We are back at the Flipped Lifestyle Headquarters this week!
If you didn’t check out last week’s episode we went over the importance of picking a focused direction, finding a group of people to stay accountable and why investing time and money is vital even though there is a risk.
The reality we’ve realized is this: There will always be something in your way – the online world is competitive.
We want to help you get better and make your online business get better!
Not making excuses has helped us realize that we need to focus on the solutions and not the problems.
We’ve also had to help folks understand that the luxury and freedom isn’t always immediate and will come as you move forward but be content as you go through that process.
Being content with where you are at and understand that if you want to move forward with your goals sooner there are decisions that you can make — like canceling your cable, or moving into a smaller home with a smaller mortgage are some things we did to invest into our online business.
Set reasonable goals that are relevant to your life and should be attainable.
Get to that first checkpoint before setting new higher goals. Your dreams are made up of dozens and dozens of goals.
You will learn
- What can you do better?
- We do not make excuses
- Time can’t be your excuse – there is always a way
- There are ways to get the money you need for an online service
- Why they are content
- Be patient with the process
- Set Goals that are attainable
- Keep Taking Action

JOCELYN: Hey y’all! On today’s podcast, we’re going to share three more habits that made us successful in online business.
Welcome to the Flipped Lifestyle podcast, where life always comes before work. We’re your hosts, Shane and Jocelyn Sams. Join us, each week, as we teach you how to flip your lifestyle upside-down, by selling stuff online. Are you ready for something different? All right, let’s get started.
SHANE: What’s going on guys? Welcome back to the Flipped Lifestyle podcast; we are back at Flipped Lifestyle world headquarters this week. We are not laying on the beach, there are no seagulls, no ocean waves in the background, the only noises you will hear behind us is the rustling of our laundry in the washing machine.
JOCELYN: We keep a luxurious surrounding.
SHANE: Yeah, and the dishwasher clanging and banging. So, no helicopters flying over this week, just the sound of wonderful machines doing work for us in the background; that’s kinda like outsourcing, you know what I’m saying? We’re using the machines to save time.
JOCELYN: Yeah, right.
SHANE: But we are going to continue our topic this week of success habits; the things that we look back on over the last three years, got us to where we are today, the things that we do that we see might be a little bit different than what a lot of online business people are doing, especially people who can’t get over the hump, who can’t quite figure out the pieces to the puzzle. Last week we brought you three success habits, we talked about picking a focused direction and sticking to it, the willingness to be held accountable and finding a group of people to surround yourself with to do that for you, and also that you are investing time and money. I think some people think that I can either spend money or I just grind the hours out in our works. Last week we talked a lot about how you have to do both even though there’s a risk, you may not get that time or money back. And today we’ve got three more habits or things that we believe made us successful and continue to make us successful in online business and we just wanted to share those with us today maybe to let you apply these things to your business and take it to the next level as well. But before we do that, we are going to go to a success story from a member of our Flip Your Life community.
JOCELYN: Today’s success story comes from Chris and Melanie and they say, “Hey guys, just wanted to report that we made our second straight 1000+ dollar month and our email list went over 1000 subscribers. We still have a week left in the month so let’s see what happens. And Shane specifically wanted to make sure he does so I would have to say the words, “super stoked” because that is something that I would totally never say.”
SHANE: Jocelyn would never say that but Chris and Melanie, who are members of our Flip Your Life community, they have been around quite a while now, we actually had a consulting call with them earlier in the year and they have worked really hard investing their time and money and their success is really starting to pay off. They are starting to get that snowball effect; it took them a few months to get to that first 1000-dollar month but now that they have repeated the process and increased their income in back to back months, and they hit a huge milestone of a thousand email subscribers, that’s a great number to really build an online business around. So, way to go guys, we are really proud of Chris and Melanie, they have really been putting in the work, they have been in the forums every day and they have been asking questions, using the community, using the training there and if you would like to learn more about the Flip Your Life community and get some of these success stories rolling in your online business, you can learn more at flippedlifestyle.com/flipyourlife.
JOCELYN: We started the success habits last week because we noticed a trend in a lot of the people that we work with. Not only did some Flip Your Life and in other online communities that we are a part of, we keep seeing the same things come up over and over again. So we thought that it might be good just to bring up some of these habits to help people as they are starting out in online business, or if you have been doing this for a while and you are not seeing the type of progress that you really want to make, there is some tough love coming up. We don’t sugar coat things here at the Flip Lifestyle –
SHANE: #nosugar. Look at that going, I want the #nosugar going anytime we give advice.
JOCELYN: Right. So, yeah, Shane is a little bit better at that than I am but –
SHANE: There’s no sugar from Shane, none at all.
JOCELYN: There’s not going to be a lot of sugar coating here. We want you to really keep it real and see what you are doing wrong or what you could be doing better, and certainly there are a lot of things that we could be doing better, but we just want to help you out. We’ve got all kinds of emails and messages from people who listened to last week’s show and they were like, “Hey, I know you were talking directly to me.”
SHANE: Someone stopped in their driveway; that was my favorite story. One of our members of our community just said, “I was pulling out of my driveway and I was listening to it that morning and I got to that part where –”I can’t remember which part she said it was but she said, “I literally stopped at the end of my driveway.” I thought that was hilarious.
JOCELYN: Yeah, so this is the kind of content that we want to put out there for you just to make you think and to help you get better and to grow in your online business.
SHANE: So, we are going to jump right into the content, we want to really get directly to it and kind of not beat around the bush, and bring you these three success habits. The first habit this week is that we do not make excuses. Jocelyn and I, we always tell our kids, I probably say this every single day to Isaac and Ana; any time they start whining or crying or blaming or doing anything like that, I look right at them and it’s so ingrained in them now, I say, “What do whiners and criers get?” And they both like in lock step, like the marines go, “Nothing.” I’ve told them from birth that you know, when you whine and you cry and you make excuses, nothing works. And we hear this a lot from people who are starting an online business or people that tried for a couple of months and then kinda let it go for a little bit, and you know, they still call themselves an entrepreneur but they are really not doing anything to grow their business, you know, we hear all kinds of excuses from ‘I didn’t do this’, ‘It didn’t feel good,’ ‘I’ve got three or four kids,’ I’ve got this and I’ve got that, and Jocelyn and I have just never been people to kind of you know, drown in our own misery and woe, basically.
JOCELYN: There’s a saying that I love, it’s a quote, I don’t know who originally said it, but it says, “If it’s important to you, you’ll find a way; if not, you’ll find an excuse.” And I see that just constantly not only in online business, but just in my everyday life, just so people I talk to, everybody that you come across, they either will find a way or they’ll find an excuse. So, think about that as you go through your everyday life and maybe we’ll make that a little bit tweetable for our show notes and you can go out there and retweet that.
SHANE: And the bottom line is, this is hard; online business is very hard, it’s hard every day, it’s very challenging, there’s going to be some kind of problem that shows up every single day that can derail your online business and derail your future. It’s just the way it is. There’s a lot of moving parts in online business, there’s a lot of variables out there, there’s a lot of people out there doing this so there’s a lot of competition, there’s always going to be something in your way that is going to make you either quit or you can say, ‘Well, that’s the reason I’m not being successful.’ But you can’t just sit around and make excuses; when you have challenges and you have problems in your online business, you can find problems, you can focus on the problem, or you can focus on the solution and that is what Jocelyn and I think have been really good at over the last three years. We’ve met all kinds of roadblocks here and there, we’ve started our online business when we had very small children, we know exactly what you are going through out there if you’ve got small children, we both worked full-time jobs and we had everything – every minute of our day was pretty much gone when we were starting our online business and even now when we “we’ve got it figured out” that’s hilarious ‘cause we don’t –
JOCELYN: Yeah, no one ever has it all figured out.
SHANE: But two months ago, we got hacked and our entire business got shut down. It was like someone had burnt down our storefront basically. So there’s always going to be a reason that you can say, ‘Well, I just can’t get it to work’ or ‘I just can’t do this’ but more than likely you are making an excuse. You got to focusing on the solutions and not the problems.
JOCELYN: Probably the biggest excuse that we hear is I don’t have time and we get this because it’s like Shane was talking about earlier, we do have two small kids, we were working two full-time jobs at the time when we started our online business and one of our members, Janette, we keep thinking about her when we think of this, she has six children, she worked a full-time job, she was a teacher, so she had to be up super early anyway, but she was telling us of our last live event that she would get up at four o’clock in the morning so that she would have uninterrupted time to work on her online business. She is now doing online business full-time and she doesn’t have to get up at four o’clock in the morning anymore because she made that sacrifice. She found a way to do it instead of finding an excuse.
SHANE: Instead of saying, ‘I’ve got six kids, I can’t do this,’ or ‘Oh woe is me, I didn’t write my blog post last week because I’ve got six kids’ she said, no, I’m going to purposefully and with intention solve the problem; the problem was she had no time because she had a lot of responsibilities, but instead of just letting that sit there and fester, she found a way. She said, you know what, I’ll sacrifice some sleep and I’ll get up at four AM, I’ll get my work done and eventually this is going to pay off into an online business where I can quit my job and Janette was at it for four or five years doing this.
JOCELYN: And she did it consistently like every day. I don’t think she even took a day off, getting up at four in the morning.
SHANE: So basically she just worked and worked and worked for like years and then finally we put some pieces together and it took her four or five months to kind of figure it out at the end that she could you know, make enough money to quit her job. But she found a solution, she did not focus on the problem. The next big excuse that we always hear is money. I get that, listen, we were not starving to death but I wouldn’t say that we were living high off the hog when we both were making teacher money in Kentucky, not exactly making the most money of any job out there. We did not have a lot of room in our budgets to start an online business, we had debts like school loans and things like that and you know, we were living pay check to pay check. So when we decided to do this, we didn’t say to ourselves, ‘We don’t have enough money’, ‘Maybe if we can make some money online, we’ll start investing in our business,’ I hate it when people say that because that doesn’t make any sense at all. That’s like saying, I’ll just get a paycheck before I get a job. That makes no sense to me. But some of our members have found creative solutions to find the money that they need. One of the members the other day didn’t have enough money to pay for a service that he needed to attach for WordPress or whatever, to make things work, to collect emails and do things like that, like AWeber or something, so he went out and he was a triathlon guy, and he loved triathlons but he wasn’t planning for being in a triathlon for a little while. So he said, you know what, I am going to sell my bike; I love this bike, I love riding this bike, this is my thing, I am a triathlon guy, I love to go and train, I exercise and do stuff like that but, right now in this season of my life, I want to do what it takes to make my online business work. So he sold his bike and that paid for the service that he needed for X amount of months.
JOCELYN: And I was just going to say that sometimes when you have disagreements, I know that when you have disagreements with your spouse sometimes, it is about money especially if you are trying to start an online business and you are not making any money because that can be a little bit of a sore spot, and we talked about this a little bit last week, one of our members was having this issue, so one way that you can get around that is to make deals with your spouse that if you can sell things, maybe around your house, or make some extra money somehow, that that will pay for your online business and this is actually something that I do with Shane because –
SHANE: Children’s clothing. Oh my gosh, how did it fork its way into this show?
JOCELYN: Hey does not appreciate my –
SHANE: Addiction.
JOCELYN: No, my – yeah.
SHANE: Healthy love.
JOCELYN: Yeah, he does not appreciate my enthusiasm for children’s clothing.
SHANE: Here’s an enthusiasm means, you know, when you are like sitting playing around on the internet, and you are looking at the different websites, Jocelyn pretty much shops for children’s clothing and it’s not like you know, oh they need sweatpants to play in, it’s that thing that they’ll wear one time. Like Ana Joe went to school today in ghost pants and pumpkin shirt to celebrate Halloween, and I don’t even want to know how much they cost. Actually we went to a – yesterday we were talking about my can’t miss moments and she had on these boots with her fairy costume and Jocelyn to this minute still will not tell me how much the boots cost.
JOCELYN: Yeah, I had to buy them on eBay because they weren’t available. But anyway, that’s beside the point; but what I do is I sell other things to get money to pay for the children’s clothing so I don’t have to hear about it.
SHANE: We have a recycling policy here; she has to – she sells old children’s clothing to get new children’s clothing.
JOCELYN: And it’s not just old children’s clothing, it’s not what you are thinking of us, like yard sale, I mean, these are like nice, designer outfits [Crosstalk] so I mean they wear them like once or twice and then you just resell them to buy other ones. But anyway, that is what I do with children’s clothing and so you can also apply that to your online business. So, maybe if you are having issues with your spouse, and they are upset about how much money you are spending, maybe you can look around at some things that you have. I mean, here in America, for most people, we have way too much junk and you could look around in the room right now probably and find two or three things that you can sell on eBay or maybe Craig’s List, somewhere local Facebook buy-sell trade page, there’s millions of them, just think outside the box a little bit. Don’t always think that you have to spend money out of your normal budget to make this work.
SHANE: And I actually, this is something too, we are going off on a little rabbit hole here, but when this started, I was enthusiastic about starting the online business and Jocelyn didn’t want to do that. We didn’t have a lot of money in our budget to figure that out and we tell the story a lot of how we cancelled cable. We cancelled our cable TV but that was a decision we both made together when we had both agreed that online business was possible. If you go to your husband and say, if you are out there doing this and you say, “I’m going to cancel our cable TV, so you will not be allowed to watch any football or sports games ever again until I get this online business working” your spouse is not going to be on board. I’m sorry to tell you that. If you go out and you want to cancel something and your wife loves The Walking Dead and you are like, “I’m going to cancel TV, and you cannot watch Walking Dead anymore,” your wife is not going to get on board with your online business. If you are the one that is pumped up, if you are making the excuse of money and you are like, ‘Okay fine, I’ll stop making excuses, I’ll go find money’, you can’t take things from your spouse to get the online money. One of the first things that I did when realized this, I used to collect books, like epic, fantasy novels like [Crosstalk]
JOCELYN: Nerd.
SHANE: I am a nerd, I admit that; I embrace it actually, but I used to love these books by a guy named Robert Jordan called the Wheel Of Time and he actually is deceased, he actually passed away a few years ago but I have his books. I have got them autographed. I actually had met him a couple of times, when a new book would come out, I would find him on tour and I would get the new book autographed. I actually had an original, first edition copy autographed from him. I love these books, I cherish these books, but I knew that I needed some money to throw up my online business to test that this worked out, to see if it would work. So, one of the first things I did was I put those books that were autographed by this – this guy has passed away, I can’t go out and get these re-autographed ‘cause he is not here anymore and I really love those books but I sold them to get a couple of hundred bucks upfront to go buy hosting, to go buy something to collect emails and things like that. So, you are going to have to make sacrifices, you are going to have to buck up and make it happen and you’ve got to stop making excuses. So if you are making these excuses of time and money, stop focusing on the problem, focus on a solution. There is always a solution. Go look yourself in the mirror and figure out what you can do to make it happen.
JOCELYN: All right, so let’s jump into the second habit that makes us successful for today and that is being content. And what we mean by that is that we aren’t out there constantly trying to make some crazy exorbitant amount of money and keep improving on it every month. I mean, yes, we are in business to make money, if you are not in business to make money, then you probably won’t be in business very long, but we are also not always trying to have that million-dollar month or whatever the goal may be. When we first started in online business and we realized that hey, this could possibly work, we decided to make some pretty big sacrifices according to a lot of the people around us and even to ourselves. One of the things that we decided to do was to sell our house and we have talked about it on the podcast before, we had a really nice house, we lived in a nice neighborhood, we had a pool in the backyard and for all intents and purposes, our life was pretty good. And we made the, in some people’s opinion, kinda crazy decision to move into a smaller house, in a different area and that was what we decided to do. We just decided to be content, we wanted to move forward in our goals, we wanted to be able to quit our job sooner and by almost halving our mortgage payment, that made us able to do that that much faster.
SHANE: And I think the main issue here is, a lot of people that we encounter that are trying to start an online business, they want the luxury but they don’t realize that the luxury and the freedom doesn’t come until later. And you have to be content upfront for a couple of years with what you have so you can get to the place where you want. And a lot of people that we encounter are not content; they want it now, they are not ready to step back and it’s not even sacrificing, it’s just you know, scale back a little bit, be calm, be patient, and move forward with what you got. You don’t have to have 16 VAs, you don’t have to have every single software service that comes out and is brand new and is the shiny object of the month thing, you don’t have to have all these things. You just need what you need and that is what is going to make you successful in your online business. Even today, we still live in a house that we bought, we are very content, very happy here right now; probably two or three years from now, we’ll go and move to another house, but we are really secure in where we are because we don’t have to have a million-dollar house even though we might be able to afford that. We don’t have to have the biggest house in the neighborhood with the biggest pool and the best, you know, sports cars in the driveway. We’ve got our house, we’ve got our minivans in the driveway, and that is just where we are, our kids, we are very content; our kids have a nice yard to play in, they have both got their own rooms, we got a little place in the back office where we can do laundry and work at the same time and we got our living rooms and all that good stuff. We have what we need and we are very content with it. A lot of people who fail in online business sometimes fail after they start making money because they start spending and they start blowing it out and they start going crazy. We hear it all the time too and Chris and Melanie, if you are listening, be careful with that thousand bucks you made last month. People will make that thousand bucks and they’ll spend it all and they’ll go on a trip or they’ll make that extra 500 bucks and they’ll just spend it all. You have to be content and be patient and be calm and grow your business slowly over time or you might fail. If you just totally go for the next level too fast at all times and you blow your money, you are not going to make it. So we think contentment is a really big strength that we both possess and it allows us to really slow down and focus and invest in our business in the future.
JOCELYN: And along those lines of contentment, you shouldn’t be comparing yourself to other people online all the time. This is something that we find happens a lot in pretty much every circle that we have been a part of. People are worried about what this person is doing or what that person is doing – and it really doesn’t matter. As long as you are meeting your goals and you are content with what is going on in your online business and your life, it really doesn’t matter what those other people are doing. So if you are comparing yourself to someone else, stop.
SHANE: And that takes us into our third success habit that we want to talk about today, is setting reasonable goals and this ties in directly with what Jocelyn just said about comparing yourself to other people. If you start looking at the gurus and their income statements and we’ve talked a lot on the show about how a lot of those income statements are not true, a lot of those income statements are focusing on revenue, are focusing on invoiced, that may not even be the total amount of actual gross money they are receiving, you are probably focusing on the wrong things. You can’t worry about what other people are doing because what other people are doing is not going to help you quit your nine-to-five job. What other people are doing is not going to give you the financial freedom that you need to stay at home and work on your own online business. You got to focus on what you are doing and you got to set goals that are relevant to your life. These goals should also be attainable. I hear all the time you know, people come in, this is a big thing –in our Flip Your Life forum, one of the first lessons that people do is this goal-setting exercise where we take people through and try to figure out exactly what they want and you know, we hear all the time like I want to be making 3000 dollars a month in three months and I want to quit my job in four months and I want to be a millionaire in five months. And stuff like that, really does – people say that to us. I had someone just the other day stop me, I was out doing some stuff and this was here in my town, they said, hey, how’re you doing, and they said, “Let me ask you a question; if my goal is to make 1500 dollars per month and create a consistent, steady income, is it possible to do that within 30 days or less?” I’m like, “No, that’s not possible, you can’t do that and if anyone has ever told you that, that is not true, please don’t believe that” because you have to set attainable and reasonable goals and get to that check point and then set another goal that is higher. Our original goals were not necessarily to just quit our job forever even though I knew that was our destiny when I kicked in the door of our apartment.
JOCELYN: Right, well, you couldn’t convince me of that at that time.
SHANE: Yeah, Jocelyn did not believe that, but you know, our first goals that we set were, let’s make money online. Let’s just see if we can get an extra 100 or 200 dollars a month; that was one of our first goals. After we made our first four figure month, we said, wait a minute, let’s set a new goal, let’s try to double that; we made 2000 dollars and let’s make 4000 and then we said, wait a minute, if we can make a four figure month, what if we can do a five figures a month? Let’s do that. Once we attained that, we made the next goal and we said let’s make the next goal; but I think the problem is, most people when they start their online business, they set the bar too high. You goals becomes “I want to quit my job, live on a beach in Bali, never have any worries and make infinite money a month.” And it’s because all these gurus are out there, you know, showing pictures on Instagram and Facebook and everywhere of their trips and they are speaking and their life is so perfect, it’s not always perfect. So, I think that you really have to reevaluate your goals; I know what your long term dream is, but your dreams are made up or little check points, dozens and dozens of little goals that will get you to your dream that’s in the future, that’s far away. What is the next thing you have to do? What is the next reasonable, attainable goal that you can make happen to be successful online? Jocelyn and I have been really good at focusing on the next step, not ten steps down the road.
JOCELYN: Yeah, I think that this is one of the things that we see most often when people come into our group and I think that it is because people are out there giving these crazy numbers and saying that you can do this. Yes, you can do that but it’s just like Shane said, you are going to have to do it in a controlled manner. You can’t just start an online business and then the next day start making five figures a month. I mean, it just doesn’t work that way. So, just keep it real, just make sure that you are setting long-term goals and short term goals to get there, and make sure that they are reasonable and that they are attainable.
SHANE: I kinda relate everything back to sports because you know, football coach, but it’s just like a game of football; you know, our goal of course is to win, our goal of course, might be to win every game, that might what the goal is one year, but I have coached on many bad football teams and I have coached on a lot of good football teams. When I was on the bad football teams, one year we made one in nine. Yeah, I want to win the state championship but it would not make sense for me to set my next goal next year to be, “Hey guys, we are one in nine, but I’ve got a bold dream. I’m going to put it out there and we are going to reach for it. We are going to win the state championship next year, it’s going to happen.” No, that’s not a reasonable, attainable goal; now five years from now we might be able to do that but the first thing we are going to have to do is win two games. The next thing we have to do is win half of our games and then maybe win a majority of our games in the third or fourth year and maybe the district and then move on.
JOCELYN: I think though, when you were starting out, you did start out that way. You went in thinking ‘I can turn this whole thing around’ and at the end of that year, it was kind of like a rude awakening and –
SHANE: Good life lesson though.
JOCELYN: And you being the dreamer and I am more of the realist, I remember saying to Shane towards the end of that first season when they had won I think zero games, right?
SHANE: No, it was one in nine.
JOCELYN: So, I remember saying to you though before the season was over, let’s set a goal for this game, have each of the players set a goal, you know, even something small.
SHANE: The goals were literally like, move forward, like positive yardage, literally like, don’t get running clocked ‘cause if you get like – we got running clocked like six times or seven times in one season one time ‘cause we were terrible, but our goal was like let’s just bend on break and let’s get it down. And the kids really embraced those goals and we started becoming competitive and in the third year we got better. You know, you just keep getting better and better and better. So, you don’t set these monumental goals, you know, I know you have dreams, I understand that, but guys, it’s really not about the dreams, it’s about what you do next. So set something that you can achieve next. If you have no email subscribers, set a goal to get 50 email subscribers. That’s your goal, here’s the beautiful thing about goals, once you get one done, you can set another one and you can set another one and you can keep moving forward that way.
JOCELYN: Yeah, and I think that it all really just boils down to – all of these success habits boil down to taking action and that is something that we always talk about and something that neither of us are afraid to do. We just do things. Do we mess up? Every day. But we keep going, we keep taking action and we find something and we make it work.
SHANE: So to review what you should take action on today, number one, go look in the mirror and if you are making excuses, you know, I know that you might be sick, I know that you may have kids, I know that you work full-time, but guess what, so did everyone else who has ever made it online; you are not special. I’m sorry, everyone else has the same problems.
JOCELYN: You have the same days in a week, the same number of hours in a day, it’s every person on the earth.
SHANE: So, if you don’t make it, it’s because you are not making it happen and that is just some tough love we wanted to throw out for you today. Number two is take action on being content. Look around at the excess in your life, what can you get rid of and be content with and then when you do make it, when you start making some money online, stay content, keep piling the money off to the side, keep piling the winds up, and be content with what you got so you don’t lose it. It’s not about what you get, it’s about what you keep and number three, set reasonable goals. We totally understand that you have big, bold dreams and we want you to have big, bold dreams because those are the things that give us the initial spark but you got to set reasonable, attainable, next step goals and then set a new goal after that if you are going to continuously move forward for the long term in online business.
JOCELYN: All right, next we are going to talk about our can’t-miss moments; these are things we may have missed if we didn’t start our online businesses and this week’s can’t-miss moments was –
SHANE: Field trips; we went to field trips this week, two of them actually, Ana Joe, went on a field trip to a pumpkin patch and then –
JOCELYN: The very next day.
SHANE: Was Isaac first of Ana first?
JOCELYN: No, Ana was first.
SHANE: So Isaac went to the pumpkin patch, so we both got to go with her to the pumpkin patch and go feed goats and animals, and I have an awesome picture of a camel like almost licking my face that I am going to put on the show notes, and the next day, we went with Isaac to the exact same pumpkin patch. His school also went on a field trip and so it was really cool just to be on those field trips with them and also to be together. Isaac actually said to me, “Dad, you are the only dad that ever gets to come on all the trips.” And I thought like that was cool because he said that totally unprompted just like when we were walking around the farm, but that was definitely a can’t-miss moment. I know for sure, that we would not be on those field trips because we were teachers, so we would be teaching in school while they were there, so I had a really good time on that trip.
JOCELYN: Yeah, it was really a lot of fun, we got to watch the kids slide and they fed some ducks, and some animals. We went through a corn maze and everybody just really had a good time and we were one of the few moms and dads there with their children.
SHANE: And one of the added benefit I was just thinking about, is we get a lot of good pictures on trips like this; school trips and pictures and memories because like one of us can take pictures of all of the others running around, and we don’t have to ask anybody to do that. So it was an awesome can’t-miss moment. If you would like to get some help with your online business so that you can have more can’t miss moments just like ours, head over to flippedlifestlye.com/flipyourlife, we would love to have you in our membership community. This is not a normal training forum with just a bunch of videos for setting up WordPress; we do have some of those things but primarily what this is for is to put you in a mastermind setting with other entrepreneurs, with Jocelyn and myself, and to help you take those next steps and make those reasonable goals happen in your online business to give you the accountability and the help that you need so that you can be successful online. Before we close each show, we like to leave you with a power verse to kind of give you some inspiration moving forward during the week. Jocelyn and I draw a lot of our inspiration from the Bible and we like to share some of that with you. Today’s power verse comes from Deuteronomy 8-18 and the Bible says, “But remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth.” So get out there, take action, flip your life. we’ll see you then.
JOCELYN: Bye!
