Making money online doesn’t just provide a great way to earn a living, it also provides a ton of freedom for your family!
Once or twice a month Jocelyn and I will just randomly take off on a spur of the moment road trip!
Usually in the middle of the week; we like to avoid the weekend crowds when we travel.
Just this week we got in the car (well, a rental car…the van is still in the shop) and drove down to the Wilderness Indoor Water Park in Pigeon Forge, TN.
We had a blast!
We also got a ton of work done on the drive there and back (plus a little at night when the kids crashed after a day of swimming and sliding).
Trips like this would not be possible if we didn’t make money online.
In our first podcast we told you all about how we make our living selling digital products over the Internet.
In today’s podcast, we are going to teach you different ways you can make money online:
- How to sell advertising space on your blog or website
- How you can use Google to start monetizing your site right away
- How to make money fast with affiliate marketing
- How you can get paid just for sharing product links from Amazon.com
- The power of selling physical products in existing online marketplaces
We are also going to give you a more detailed look at the advantages of selling digital products, including:
- The low cost to get started
- Very little overhead / few business expenses
- How “passive income” generated by digital products, lets you work once and keep getting paid over and over again
- How you can use digital products to stop trading time for dollars, and start making money 24/7 (even while you sleep)
Finally, we are going to introduce you to some real families using the internet to make money online:

They buy products from discount stores, and sell them on Amazon.com for a profit.

This is truly something anyone can do to make money online.
The best part is, Jessica and Cliff are very open about the process for selling on Amazon.

At the moment I find that selling physical products on Amazon via their FBA platform works best for me. The ease of use and the fact that by using a trusted brand like Amazon makes for an outstanding winning combination.
BTW… Our family also recently visited Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We too road the wheel while there… Great Fun!
Jeff

Awesome Jeff! Have you been to Jessica and Cliff Larrew’s website? The do very well on Amazon/FBA. They have a lot of advanced marketing and information on Amazon selling. Great stuff!
We go to Pigeon Forge all the time, we live super close and its a great quick trip for the family. The wheel was so fun, Anna Jo and Isaac loved it! Thanks so much for reaching out 🙂

Hi there!
Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your story and your thoughts – I love Pat Flynn and all he has done with SPI. (Great interview by the way!)
One thing I love about your story is that your success has been in the last couple of years – that really sets you apart from a lot of the other “Build your dream online today…” type of people – they built their business years ago when SEO, digital marketing, conversion optimization, etc. looked very different (and in some cases, non existent).
One area where I would love more info is the trajectory of your success – in terms of unique traffic over time, email subscribers over time, and how this has correlated to sales for each of your sites and products. For example, with Elementary Librarian, have most sales come from purchase orders, tying back to a school budget? Or, with Coach XO, how does the $97 playbook compare to the $197 playbook?
I know that this sort of “opening the kimono” is pretty unique (understandably, few do beyond Pat) but if this is something you’d be open to it would be super helpful for those of us making decisions in the early stages of the process.
Thanks again!
Hannah
Shane Sams says
Thanks Hannah! Yes, we got in right when the SEO stuff changed. Our road was not without some potholes haha!
I’ll try to put together a blogpost that looks at how our traffic / sales grew over time 🙂 I have no problem “opening the kimono” if it helps y’all out! -Shane

That would be great – thanks for your reply and looking forward to it!

thanks for sharing your experience and this great site.
i read about you on SPI.
I was moved the fact that you love GOD and give back to the Church.
I started a site http://youritalianrecipes.com which is monetized only with adsense and infolinks. trying to for my product and some amazon.
with adsense and info i have made 12 $ only but it is a start.
if you could do it, i can as well.
God Bless You.
Antonio from Italy
Jocelyn Sams says
Antonio, Thanks so much for your kind words. We definitely love the Lord and support our church with our time and also financially. Keep going and don’t give up. That $12 may be the boost you need. 🙂

Hi,
Thanks for another great podcast. You are very inspiring to me to finally take full committed action to achieving my goals in Internet Marketing and living a Digital Lifestyle.
I had not even thought about using Amazon links on Facebook for the stuff that I have bought and recommended to others. Great idea.

You said in the podcast intro there was already something on your computer you could use to make an online product and make some money online quickly but I’m not sure you ever got back to it … were you just talking about the affiliate links or something more specific? thanks!
Shane Sams says
Thanks for the question! We were talking about using software you already have to make top notch digital products: PowerPoint, Word, etc. We show you how to do that in our getting started eCourse https://flippedlifestyle.com/flipyourlife
Lindsay says
Thanks!

I found myself nodding as you went through the various ways to make money, as I have done them all and earned small amounts from all of them. My problem has always been sticking with one thing and being consistent. I have a tendency to bounce around from idea to idea, and I find that I am not really passionate about the nuts and bolts marketing aspects of some of these choices (i.e. building an autoresponder series always makes me cringe).
I have however packed two new boxes of items to send it to Amazon, which happens to be the business model that appeals to me the most and the one I am going to run with. I also reviewed all of my analytics for my old blogs and plunked a few AdSense ads into an evergreen post that still gets about 500-600 views per month on autopilot. That post has already earned $0.02 in the first day. =)
Looking forward to the rest of the podcasts and catching up!
