This week’s guest is Dr. Joe Martin! He has an awesome podcast called the Real Men Connect Podcast where Christian men heal wounds from their past, become better fathers, get control of their finances, have better marriages, and be the lead that their family needs.
He used to be a speaker but now he has a membership with over 100 members! The COVID-19 pandemic dried up his income but his membership kept him afloat!

Dr. Joe has an AMAZING story of how he used pain in his past to help others get out of their situations too (we love a good mission-based membership)!!
Dr. Joe was the youngest professor ever hired at the State of Florida at just 24 years old and got his doctorate at 28, wrote his first book at age 29, the list goes on!
In all of his success, Joe says he skipped over actually healing from his trauma. When he hit rock bottom, that is when he found that God is the Rock at the bottom. After meeting one person that changed the trajectory of his life, Joe decided to pay it forward and mentor others through his organization (realmenconnect.com)! Now, he helps men win at whatever frustrates them most – and do it in a faith-based way!

Why should Joe wait a year to double his numbers – why can’t we work on doing it right now? Joe is struggling with some mindset issues.
Joe’s problems with a faith-based community are not uncommon. Often, people with faith-based memberships get feedback wondering, “why do I have to pay to be in fellowship if it’s from the Lord?” These people are very far and few between – but it does hurt Joe in a way because he doesn’t want to be misunderstood.
Right now Joe is actually giving away WAY too much, we’ve got to fix that! This is not church – it’s a membership. You can’t make everyone happy!
What is keeping you from moving forward? (45:00)
Joe’s offer needs to change so he can serve more people. He does NOT have to keep offering the same offers!
Here’s what he needs to work on changing right now:
- Joe changes his offer on the unlimited coaching. Change it to 1 hour a week.
- Charge hourly rates for coaching.
- Work towards a new offering model.

- Emailing his members and advertising his Q+A in the Facebook Group.
- Promoting his member call like an event.
- Scaling back his offer to just content and Q+A, with up-sells to things that take his time.
