Why do bad people want to hurt good people?
For the past 3-4 weeks we’ve been fighting hackers who have taken down our sites, attacked our bank accounts, and stolen our identity.
Today we’re going to talk about exactly what happened to us, identity theft and steps you need to take to protect yourself, your online business, and your family.
After guessing this was just a random attack we suddenly realized this was personalized directly at us – our websites, computers, bank accounts and more.
This has affected every aspect of our lives and we want to help you avoid that issue.
It happened to us, it CAN happen to you too!
- 47% of Americans had their data compromised in the last 12 months
- 600,000 unauthorized Facebook logins happen every day
- Identity theft happens every 2 seconds
You will learn
- Why you are vulnerable to identity theft even if you don’t share everything online like we do.
- How the hacker brought our entire life to a screeching halt.
- How we thought we were safe, but didn’t understand how to protect ourselves.
- Why this has affected every aspect of our lives.

JOCELYN: And you know a lot of people say, “Well I don’t shop online because that’s dangerous.” Well the funny thing is I shop online very often and I’ve actually had no problems with shopping online at all, but what I have had problems with are people who are attacking my banks, my credit card companies. And time and time again I’ve gotten letters in the mail that said “Hey, your credit card information’s been compromised” or “Our servers have been attacked.”
SHANE: Or like Target the other day, what was it, like 30 million credit card numbers from their customers, whether you have online banking or not, were attacked and compromised. So you’re not safe, whatever what you think.
JOCELYN: Yeah, that’s the thing is that no one is safe, and the purpose of this podcast and the series of podcasts this month is not to scare you, you know, we don’t want you to move to an abandoned island or to only use cash or, you know –
SHANE: Dig a hole to keep your money in.
JOCELYN: Exactly, because you know that’s just not realistic in the world that we live in today. But the purpose of all of this is just to help you to be more aware of what you’re doing online, where your information is, how it is secured, and just to help you to know that you are vulnerable and that you need to secure this information. So just remember that if you use credit cards, if you use debit cards, if you have medical records, if you birth records, if you are anywhere on any computer system on the face of the earth, you are not safe.
SHANE: And also remember too that hackers do not just attack big targets. They don’t attack people who have a large following. They do do that, they don’t do that all the time though. In reality, what we have learned is that they actually attack regular people, normal folks out there, not doing podcasts, not doing things like that because many times people in the private world and that are just doing, you know, in your Facebook and things like that, those are softer targets, easier to hack those people. It’s easier to hack people who are not aware of online security and what they do is they hack you and they steal your information and they go take out credit cards in your name, then they use those credit cards to order things from other people to try to get an in and try to break into their systems. So this is not just a, “Oh you guys have a podcast. You’ve got thousands of people listening. Someone heard about your expense reports or whatever and they try to hack you.” That is not what’s happening. It happens far more often to people who do not have a podcast, who do not have an audience, than it does to people who have a podcast and have an audience. So please listen with open ears, open mind, and learn from our mistakes, because we made many of them and they have cost us thousands of dollars. They have caused us a lot of stress, a lot of problems. Our kids now totally know the name “hacked” and what “hacked” means. Ana Joe wakes up every day and says, “Are we still hacked Daddy? Are they still hacked?” And then Isaac, he was really like scared and having nightmares one night because he was dreaming. You know, we were very stressed out and I sat him down and I said “Son, listen, there’s someone trying to hurt us. Someone is trying to hurt us, maybe trying to steal our money” and I just, was trying to be honest with him to try to put him at ease, and he’s been having nightmares lately about like us getting robbed, and people trying to hurt us, and he’s like, “Why would people try to hurt us? I don’t understand. I thought we just try to help people.” And so this has been a really, really painful event in our lives and we do not want you to go through this. So what we are gonna do is show you exactly what happened to us, that’s what we’re gonna talk about today, and then we’re gonna get a little bit into how to prevent this from happening to you. This is a very big problem. This could affect you. Some statistics that we looked up after we started studying this: 47% of Americans have had their information compromised in the last 12 months. Think about that, 47% of every human being that lives in America has had their data compromised, just in the last year. We’ve learned that 600,000 unauthorized Facebook logins happen every day, and just imagine if somebody broke into your Facebook. If your Facebook got hacked and not because you left your phone out and your, husband or wife posted something funny, I mean you literally hacked by someone who should not have access to your Facebook account. Think of all the messages that you’ve sent, all of the replies, all of your information that you’ve got stored in Facebook, think about that for a minute. 600,000 times a day, unauthorized logins happen. This is a very real problem, it is massive and we were very lazy and very complacent, and we don’t want you to do the same.
JOCELYN: We don’t always do this but we do want everyone who’s listening to this podcast out there to just stop what you’re doing, share it with someone that you care about right now, maybe on your social media account, you can share it on Facebook, you can Tweet it, you can Pin it, you can email it. Send it to someone you know who needs to stay safe online, and honestly as we’re just saying that’s pretty much every one that you know. We’re not even going to pitch any of our products and our community, anything like that over the next few weeks; that is not the goal of this sharing. This is honestly just to educate people about this problem, to let you look into this terrible mess that this has caused in our lives, and hopefully to protect and to help you protect your friends and your family, most importantly yourself online and just with everything that you have out there, all the information. We just want to help you to learn from our experiences and to move forward, and to hopefully be just a little bit safer with your information.
SHANE: We do wanna stress, the beginning of this, we are not security experts obviously, because let’s face it, we got hacked. But we’ve learned a whole lot about it, and we are much safer now than we were few weeks ago. I wish that we had known some of this before because it would have caused a lot less heartache and suffering in our own life, and we also want you to remember that these hackers are kinda like thieves and thugs, you know, they’re like people that kick in the back door, run in to steal something, and they just grab the first thing they see and they run away. If an alarm goes off, those people are gonna leave. If the lock is a little strong, they’re gonna leave. If there’s a light shining at the back door, they’re not even gonna attack you. If there’s a dog out back, they’re not gonna come in. The more ways you have ahead of time to protect yourself, people are gonna go after the easier targets. So the goal here is to learn what happened, make it harder for the thieves to attack you, these hackers out there that are trying to steal your information, to steal your identity, and hope they move on to a softer target. So let’s talk about our story. We’re gonna go back to the very beginning, exactly what happened and tell you how the hackers got into our life, how we figured it out, and what we did next.
JOCELYN: Really everything started probably about a month ago, and weird things started happening to a couple of our websites. We woke up one morning and all of our websites were pretty much gone.
SHANE: Gone, completely.
JOCELYN: They were replaced with some type of terrorist propaganda, which was very interesting because –
SHANE: The Mahajadin had taken over and one of the freedom of Palestine, which is, yeah.
JOCELYN: Yeah. I mean we’re from Kentucky so, you know.
SHANE: I had no clue what was going on.
JOCELYN: We’re certainly not terrorists, but this Muslim extremist group appeared to have hijacked our websites, and at that time all of our sites they were on one server, so we figured that it was probably some type of plug-in vulnerability, and they just took over everything. Well we called our host, and we got everything reset and rolled back, and we figured out what we thought the problem was. Well, later we learned that this was probably just a red herring and the terrorist had in fact not hijacked our sites.
SHANE: Whoever was hacking us was trying to give us – we look back now and they were giving us something else to blame when all this started so it would throw us off their scent, basically.
JOCELYN: And, you know, it was just made to look like a terrorist had been on there and we did learn a few lessons then, I wish that we would’ve learned a few more lessons, but we did learn a few things. We did learn that out-of-date plug-ins are really, really dangerous for your site. They’re backdoors into your sites; sometimes you need to make sure that they’re always updated. Another good idea when you’re looking at plug-ins for your website is to make sure that they’ve been updated recently. If you are trying to install a plug-in and the last time it was updated was two years ago, probably it’s not the best bet –
SHANE: They’re getting hacked, yeah.
JOCELYN: – for your website. So just keep that in mind. And also, keeping all of your sites on one server is not really a good idea, because once somebody gets into one of them, they can access all of them.
SHANE: So once we got the terrorist propaganda off our site, which was pretty easy, we just rolled everything back 12 hours on a backup. We back up our sites every 12 hours, so you know, we just fell back, everything was good, and then it didn’t happen again because we thought we had found – you know, we updated all our plug-ins, we disabled a couple that we thought had not been updated in like a year or so, we got rid of those and replaced them with something more current, and nothing happened. So you know, the hack was basically a memory, we have moved past it, it’s kinda funny, you know our audience got a big kick out of it that they logged in and they thought we had joined a terrorist group, which, a terrorist sell or something, which was not true. But everybody thought it was pretty hilarious, we got some funny emails on that, and we were just going about our lives, everything was normal, we were heading out to vacation, we loaded the kids up and we were going to Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Everything was great. We had just launched our 52nd podcast so we were in the middle of celebrating our first year, you know, our Flipped Lifestyle Podcast anniversary. We decided to have a flash sale and throw it out there to try to tell people about our membership. So I just sent out an email that just detailed what our membership was about, and welcomed, you know, like 30 new members in in one day. Lots of momentum, everything was just happening, our members were enjoying our community and we were on cloud nine. So we went to Florida and we were at a resort, and we were just, you know, out by the pool, enjoying life, just hanging out in Florida, getting ready to go to Disney in a couple of days, and we woke up one morning, I logged on to Flipped Lifestyle and something was wrong. There were Google ads all over our site, and we do not use Google ads. We say that often on our podcast, we don’t use any kind of Google ads or AdSense, we just don’t do it. So I knew that we had not put that out, I knew Jocelyn wasn’t like, “Hey, I’ve got an idea, maybe these Google ads are gonna get us to the next level” you know. I did not do that, I did not believe that.
JOCELYN: No, that was not true.
SHANE: So I immediately realized oh gosh, we’ve been hacked again, you know, but I thought this one was just some random spam-bot trolling the web, found a plugin, you know, vulnerability, those little crawlers out there or people just trying to break in to old plug-ins and sites that have weak passwords and things like that. So I thought somehow something had got through and it just pasted the ads on to our website, no big deal. So I called our host and said “Hey, hahaha, we got spammed, blah-blah-blah, let’s roll this back and you know they’ll be on their merry way, we’ll check the plugins again.” Thought we’ve solved the problem, went to the pool, enjoyed the day with the kids, hung out, got them real tired and we went to bed, no problems.
JOCELYN: So we get up the next day and the ads are back, but the weird thing about this is that all of our sites have now been split on to separate servers and now the ads are on multiple sites.
SHANE: Every site.
JOCELYN: So this is –
SHANE: Let me rephrase that; it was every site that was public, ‘cause we’ve not mentioned every website we own on this podcast before. But all of our primary sites that we talked about, ‘cause that’s gonna be important later, were hacked.
JOCELYN: Yeah, so we are kinda like, whoa, this is kind of a bad problem. So we get in touch with our webhost again and he was actually a little surprised because he’s like, “Okay, this is very odd, I do not see this happen.”
SHANE: This should not happen, basically.
JOCELYN: So we had updated all the plugins, like all of the backdoors theoretically were closed, and we really couldn’t figure out why this was still happening. We scanned for viruses, we scanned for malware, you know, things on our computers, and we both had Macs which are supposedly safer than –
SHANE: Supposedly.
JOCELYN: – PC’s, so you know we were thinking probably there was not any problem there. And we actually put in a login tracker on Flipped Lifestyle and the funny thing is that someone had actually logged in and pasted this stuff in.
SHANE: Like they had literally logged in, went to a post, and put the Google ads there. This was not some random, you know, bot inserting things in the code; like we tracked what happened, and whoever it was literally logged in, clicked on post, went in here and were pasting these. We didn’t know if this was possible through algorithms or if a program could do that, so we really didn’t know what was going on. So as we talked to our host, you know, we’re in Florida, we’re trying to enjoy, you know, life with our kids, you know, they don’t get it. We tell them we weren’t gonna work any in Florida – mom and dad were apparently liars because they were like “Why are you working? You’re not supposed to work now. This is not what you’re supposed to be doing.”
JOCELYN: Yeah, it was pretty dramatic on that front. I mean, we really didn’t have a choice, we were very panicked at that point.
SHANE: So we talked to our server host and he said “Okay, look, let’s close everything down again. Let’s roll everything back, put in a little bit more security.” And this was causing major problems now because not only was the – whatever was doing this was literally deleting entire posts. So like all of our podcasts, they were just deleting things and putting Google ads in, but every time we roll the forums back, or the website back, we were losing an entire day of posts in our member forums. So here were people that were paying us monthly to be able to go into these forums to get help with their online business, and we were losing 50, 100, 200 posts at a time every time we had to roll the server back. This was the third day in a row that we had done this and we had tried to explain to people, “Hey guys this is happening, we’re gonna have to roll the server back again” but people were getting, you know, very frustrated.
JOCELYN: And understandably so.
SHANE: Sure.
JOCELYN: I mean we understand that, you know. It made sense to us and we hated to do it, it’s just we really didn’t know what choice we had. We felt like that was the most safe thing to do at that time.
SHANE: And from a business perspective, what’s scary is customers would only take so much frustration and understandably they will cancel. We actually had cancellations during this. So from the very beginning, they started costing us money, and you know, we had just put 30 new people into the site, and now this is what – I mean “Who are these jokers that I just signed up for You know, they keep rolling back, every time I post my welcome post I get deleted.” And it was causing some major concern. So we had no choice we reloaded it, we went back to the back up one more time, went back through all the plugins, went back to all our security. At this point we had our server host actually change our passwords on his end so that we weren’t doing it from our end, ‘cause you know we were just making sure that nothing was vulnerable. Everything looked good. Everything, you know, was pretty solid. We’re a day before Disney but we think after a few hours that we finally cleaned the mess up, we’ve changed all of our passwords and you know it was all over with. But we were actually just on the edge of the cliff because it was about to get a lot worse. So even though we were taking every precaution that we knew to take as of right now, these people, whoever it was, were still getting into our stuff and here’s the scary part, this is when it became terrifying; once we started looking at how they were getting in, we realized they were directly using our names and our passwords. They were literally using my login username and my password, and after our server guy, or the guy that runs our hosting company had changed it on his side, they logged in again, and it was a direct login. There was no guessing, there was no a thousand tries to do it.
JOCELYN: Yeah, it wasn’t like a password guesser or anything like that, I mean this was a direct login using one of our usernames.
SHANE: And they were coming from places like India and Hong Kong which we would later learn that’s how they hide their tracks. People from all over the world will login to servers in India or Hong Kong and then go – or somewhere else in Asia, and then login to your site, but we started thinking to ourselves now, this is not just a website problem. So if you’re listening and you don’t have a website, this could be a bad problem because if they had our passwords to WordPress, what if they had our passwords to Facebook, what if they had our passwords for PayPal or our bank account? Like what else if it was so easy for them to quickly gain access to our actual username and passwords? How were they doing this? We had no clue. I mean it’s just paranoia rolled over us and we were like what else is going to be vulnerable?
JOCELYN: At this point, I mean we’re really getting worried because they keep getting in our sites, we keep changing the passwords and they’re still getting in. So we have no idea how this is happening. At this point, we have to assume that everything that we have is vulnerable – our computers, our phones, everything. And we had people working on this, trying to help us figure this out, and no one knows what’s going on. So I mean it’s definitely a little bit nerve-wracking, to say the least. So we’re getting ready for Disney, this is I think, on Thursday morning, and you know the kids, we got their sunscreen on, we got all the little Mickey ears buckled to the stroller that we bought the last time we were there and you know we got everything, we got the extra changes of clothes, and everybody’s getting dressed.
SHANE: We’ve already bought the tickets so we were like “Yeah, this is all going on” but like Jocelyn said people were working on this problem, so we were like, “You know let’s just let them handle it for the day, nothing major’s happened, we’ll just get up and go to Disney, everything will be fine.”
JOCELYN: So we’re getting ready to leave and I get an email from our bank saying that someone has tried to login to our account with the wrong information, and that for me is when things really got real.
SHANE: I looked over at Jocelyn, I was like buckling the kids in the stroller, and I remember, it was almost like her eyes were watered and her face got like red and she was like, “Someone’s trying to login to our bank account.” And I was like “What?” And like I just remember, you know, there’s that look that you know that your wife gets that or your husband gets, you know, you look over and something is like wrong. And I just remembered how scared Jocelyn looked at that moment because, you know, if someone gets into your bank account and they wipe your money out, yeah you’re protected but you still don’t have any money. I mean, you know, from the FDIC or all that stuff, you might lose everything and here we were, you know, 700 miles from home in Disney World and the only thing we really carried around were our debit and credit cards and if everything got shut down, we were in trouble.
JOCELYN: Yeah, and that was the thing that was really scaring me is because we are away from home. You know, in a perfect world if we were at home we can just cut off access to our debit card and go down to the bank and do whatever we need, but we’re a long way from home. So I, we just said, “Look kids, we can’t leave right now. We had planned, you know we were gonna go get up early and see Ona and Elsa and we decided, I’m sorry, we have something that we have to take care of right now, and you’re gonna have to wait just a little while.” And luckily we have really good kids and they were –
SHANE: They didn’t understand, they were kinda arguing with us at first but we were just like, you know we just had to lay the law down and go in there. We tried to take a breath and not get frustrated and you know yell at the kids or yell at each other and you know we got the kids to go into their room in the condo that we had rented, and we shut the door and we were just like okay. So we went and immediately froze all of our bank accounts, we called all our credit cards and cancelled those. We went and got cash out.
JOCELYN: Just in case.
SHANE: Just in case we needed enough money to get home. You know, thank God our tickets to our plane ride had already been paid for and we shut our computers. We couldn’t even login to our computers to fight because was it our computers that were causing the problem? Were they hacking into our computers and they had control over the machines? What if they had gotten our Last Pass? We’re fairly positive, and we’ll tell how they did this later, they actually got our Last Pass information, and maybe they had access to every password that we had ever had for anything, email, PayPal, whatever it was. So once we froze everything, that took about an hour, and we just look at each other and we were like “Well, I guess they can’t steal anything now” because we couldn’t even get access to our money. So we just decided to go to Disney World that day and put on the brave face for the kids because we couldn’t skip Disney World at that point. We just had to go and make sure the kids were okay.
JOCELYN: So all day at Disney, I mean we tried to be there for the kids and tried to have a good time, but I was just so worried all day. I mean I kept checking my phone for more like bank alerts and just constantly worried, you know. Why is someone trying to take this from me, you know, something that I worked so hard for. Why is somebody trying to ruin this? And why is somebody ruining my day at Disney? You know it’s not fair, it’s not fair to my children, it’s not fair to us, but this happened and we want to help you not let this happen to you.
SHANE: That was a bad day, really bad day. I mean we were even scared to use our phones because what if our phones had been compromised? What if they were key logging our phones and every time we text someone they were getting that information? We just didn’t know at this point. I remember we parked at Disney, we actually drove in and we walked from the parking lot down to the ferry boats to take you over into the Magic Kingdom, and I remember you know, it’s about a five minute walk from where we parked to get into the Magic Kingdom, and I remember like looking over at Jocelyn while we’re walking and like she literally just had her eyes closed and was like breathing very like deeply in and out. Her face was still red and I just felt so – I didn’t know what to do. I felt so helpless, because I mean she was so – she looked like she was about to hyperventilate, and here I am – you know the kids don’t know what’s going on, they just wanted to get into the Magic Kingdom and it was just so scary and so confusing. Here we are about three to four weeks later, we’re still dealing with this. This is still impacting pretty much everything we do every day, like –
JOCELYN: Yeah, we’re just always watching our back now. We’re just always, you know, I think that it stopped, but I don’t know that it’s over, and that’s what worries me every day. I get up every morning and just cross my fingers and –
SHANE: We check our websites, we’re like, “Are there Google ads? Is something hacked?” And then, you know, we immediately go and check all our bank accounts. We’re carrying around little books of written passwords like old school, 1990’s phone address book, like your little black book that you put the ladies numbers in, you know what I mean, we got one of those.
JOCELYN: So we have all of these like cryptic codes in it that we can barely understand.
SHANE: Oh it’s ridiculous. Like so this has been a huge ordeal; this is not something like “Ha-ha, I got hacked, it’s fixed.” This is still not fixed. We don’t even know what we can still log in and out of. We don’t know what’s good and fixed. And then there’s always the chance that we missed something and that we could open our self up to this vulnerability again. So that story that we just told, we just wanted to take you through how, how this happened, like what happened. That’s what happened. That’s what got us into this mess, and you know, this podcast has gone a little bit longer than I thought, so we’re gonna probably break this up and talk about next week exactly how hackers hacked us, how they’re hacking you right now and you don’t even know it. All the vulnerabilities in your life, in your business, everything, and tell you some things that you can do to protect yourself and make sure this doesn’t happen to you. But we do wanna leave you today with a huge, huge call to action, okay? We want you, especially with your financial information like your banks, your PayPals, anything that’s connected to PayPal or some kind of other payment gateway, anything that needs to be secure, even things that are personal like your email and your Facebook, especially your email address, we want you to change your passwords, because I know that you’re listening to this right now and you’re thinking, “Oh this couldn’t happen to me.” It could happen to you very easily and it’s because the first line of defense in anything is your username and your password, that will not protect you totally, because I’m gonna tell you ways that they hacked us. They got around our passwords, but your passwords need to be secure, first and foremost, and if you’re using any word that appears in the English language in your password, you’ve already given them half the information they need. If you’re using short passwords like less than 15 characters, you’re giving them way too much of a chance to hack you. If you’re not using characters like exclamation points and things like that in your passwords, you’re just opening yourself up for this to happen. Hackers have weapons at their disposal that if you are using real words, real people’s names, if you’re using your kids names, if you’re using their birthdays, they can find out all this information about you and they can crack your password in a heartbeat. So please, the first thing I wanna tell you – and we’re gonna talk more about passwords in next week’s episode, but we want you as soon as you stop listening to this to go in tonight, take an hour, it’ll take you one hour, don’t let laziness be the reason you get hacked and lose everything because that was part of the reason that we got hacked. Don’t let convenience be an excuse that let you get hacked ‘cause that was totally what we did. We want you to go change all your passwords tonight to something that’s cryptic, something that’s scrambled, and something that’s at least 12-15 characters, but recommend using as long as – if they let you use 21 characters, use 21 characters, ‘cause the length of your password will protect you better than anything. And do not use any real words of any kind, that’s names or English language words in your passwords.
JOCELYN: And an easy way to do this, if you don’t wanna sit there and make them all up, you can go to random.org and there’s a password generator and what it will do, you tell it how many characters you want and it will give you five passwords. And what I do is I just take parts of each of those passwords so I don’t use any of the one string by itself. I just take part of number 1, part of number 2, part of number 3, and that’s how I make my secure and longer passwords.
SHANE: You can also use things like Last Pass, which we’re gonna talk more into that, we were using it incorrectly and that’s why we got hacked, but you can use things like Last Pass to generate random passwords for you and help you to remember those. But we are so adamant about keeping your passwords secure now because of what happened to us. If you don’t think anything else out of today’s podcast, please protect your financial information. It is way more vulnerable than you think and next week we’re gonna talk about all the vulnerabilities, how hackers hack you, how they get your information, how they steal it, how they use it against you, and why they hack you, like what they want out of it. So tune in next Tuesday, we’re gonna have a full episode on all the things that we do now to protect ourselves and the things that you can do to protect yourself as well.
JOCELYN: I just wanted to say that while you’re in there changing your passwords, if you have the option to do what’s called 2-step authentication or 2-step verification on your accounts, go ahead and set that up. Take the time to set it up. That means that what will happen is that website will send a message, most likely to your phone in the form of a text, and you have to enter a code from your phone to be able to access that website. Most email providers have this, Facebook does –
SHANE: Facebook has it.
JOCELYN: Most social networks are going to that.
SHANE: And your banks.
JOCELYN: So while you’re at it, make sure that you are also taking that precaution.
SHANE: Doing those two things, changing your password and enabling two-step authentication; we’re not gonna get deep into why you should do those things right now, but those will at least help protect you a little bit, until we can tell you a lot more things you need to do to keep yourself safe. Now, we close every show with a Can’t Miss moment, and today is not gonna be any different. These people to us are like terrorists, you know, we’re not gonna let them impact our lives, we’re not gonna let them slow us down or stop us. We’re getting to the next level, we’re not gonna quit, and we’re not gonna be defeated by evil people out there that are too lazy to do things on their own, so they have to attack good people and try to steal things from them. So my Can’t Miss moment for sure is at Disney World, when we were at Disney World during the hack, all the hell that we went through, everything, all of it. I was carrying around Isaac, you know, during the day; he got tired in the afternoon and you’ve seen that movie ‘Inside Out’, they talked about core memories, like the little girl Linda had core memories that were like made up her whole being in life and all of that, and Isaac was on my shoulders and I was carrying him, you know through the Magic Kingdom, he was so exhausted, he was tired, hot, and he whispered in my ear and he said, “Daddy” and I said “Yeah?” and he said “I hope this right now, you carrying me, becomes one of my core memories because I don’t ever wanna forget it.” And you know what, that hacker tried to destroy our life, he tried to steal our identity, he tried to steal our money, and he tried to take our business down, but the only thing that mattered is that we toughed it out, and we did what was right for our kids, we went on into the Magic Kingdom and I got to have that memory that day; and I did not get my life robbed from me because of some petty thief that tried to take us down. So that is my Can’t Miss moment and when we say that, that’s my “won’t miss” moment, I’m gonna change it to that because there’s no way that I’m gonna ever let someone evil impact my life, and you shouldn’t either and that’s why we want you to protect yourself from this happening to you. And if it does happen to you, know that it’s not gonna stop you, you just gotta keep going.
JOCELYN: And that really is just what it’s all about. That’s what we’re about and we’re gonna give up and I know that some of you guys may have tried to contact us and we may be a little slow to answer, but we’re still here and we’re still gonna be here. So share this podcast with anybody that you care about who’s out there, who’s online, and who may be vulnerable, and we know that at the time we didn’t really think that we were, but we really were. So next week we’re gonna get a lot more into this, how it happened, what you can do to protect yourself, and much more on internet security and identity thefts.
SHANE: We also wanted to say a quick thank you to the hundreds of people that said, you know, “Sorry this is happening to you” “Keep going,” and all the prayers and support, and just all of the great messages that you guys sent us during this event. We really appreciate that more than you know. You kept us going, you kept us strong as we’re fighting these guys off, and you kept us on the air and moving forward. So you guys move forward too, we’ll see you next week with our next part to our discussion on internet security, and until then get out there, take action, flip your lives. We’ll see you then.
JOCELYN: Bye.

Great info so far.
When I filed my income tax in April, I was informed that I had already done it, in January.
I didn’t.
Although not as bad as you had (have?) it, t was a crazy time for our family.
Keep up the good work!
Simon
