Anna Harris and her partner Jeff started a residential painting business back in 2016. When they did that Anna got hooked on business ownership! She and Jeff decided she should find a niche of her own to get into. That is when she started listening to the Flipped Lifestyle Podcast!
For the past 4 years she has been struggling with nailing down her online business idea and following it all the way through. Like many of us just starting out, it’s hard for her to commit and turn that camera on to record her courses. The real issue here? We have to get her to stop doubting herself!
Waiting to jump into the rabbit hole.
Right now Anna’s biggest issue is walking up to the rabbit hole but not jumping in. Don’t let the fear of failure keep you from starting! “It ain’t gotta be perfect!” As entrepreneurs we have a million ideas, you can’t stop the ideas from flowing. You just have to nail that one nail down the rest can come later!
Using keyword research to your advantage.
You want to see the data on what words or phrases are searched for each month. Don’t look for things you are going to put into your courses. The keywords and phrases you find on top searches are your blog posts! Don’t use words for the symptom they are looking for – include the words they are already looking for!
Creating tiers in your membership.
Creating tiers for Anna’s membership is a great idea because of the 2.5 million waiters and waitresses their needs are going to be different depending on where they work! People working at Applebee’s and Ruth’s Chris Steak House are going to have totally different atmosphere’s they work in for their marketing! All she is doing is working as a filter between the two groups.
What are your next steps?
- Cross the threshold. She has to just commit for at least a year. She has to stop these other ideas she has to keep her from starting.
- Build a following. She needs to start posting 20-30 blog posts.
- Create a free Facebook Group for waiters and waitresses.
- Start creating her tips into videos for her own YouTube Channel.
