Jocelyn and I recently spent a week in the Philippines with Chris Ducker at his Tropical Think Tank live event.
This is a boutique, small, intimate live event with high level speakers and participants.
Chris Ducker (ChrisDucker.com) and his amazing team (Led by his better half Erz and the amazing Sian) put on THE premier live event on the planet.
It is truly world class. There are really no words to describe this event and it is quite unfair to compare it to anything else out there.
Tropical Think Tank is an amazing week of beaches, parties, masterminds and breakthroughs. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a HIGH level live event.
I wanted to write up a quick series of blog post about Tropical Think Tank (affectionately called TTT by all in attendance) to share what I learned from each speaker.
I know most people starting out can’t attend an event like this right away. One of our goals at Flipped Lifestyle is to bring you access to experts and information you might not be able to in the beginning to help you speed up the learning curve.
Every Sunday for the next few weeks, I will release what I learned from 1 of the speakers at the event. To find all of our TTT related posts, click on this link: https://flippedlifestyle.com/category/tropical-think-tank/
Try to grab something from this blog post and take action on it.
This is world class information that could take YOUR business to the next level.
First speaker up…
Speaker 1 – Darren Rowse – ProBlogger.net
Darren Rowse is a titan in the blogging industry. His session covered a lot…a LOT of information. All amazing. But one thing really stood out to me:
The concept of the A —- B Avatar.
What is the A —- B Avatar?
All entrepreneurs should create an Avatar – the PERFECT reader/customer/client you are trying to reach. A well defined avatar helps you shape your message, choose the proper products, and make decisions in your business.
This first Avatar is “Avatar A.”
Darren Rowse takes it a step further; he creates “Avatar B”
Darren asks questions like:
- “What is the result I want for Avatar A?”
- “What do I want Avatar A to know/look like/do after using my content?”
That is Avatar B. Its the aftermath, the result. EVERYONE should do this before writing a blog post, recording a podcast, creating a video or designing a product!
This is an AMAZING exercise. If you are struggling with what products to make, creating a “B Avatar” will solve your problem.
Define who you want your customers to BECOME, not just who they are.
This will give you faster results, more clarity, and make you more money in the long term. Most importantly, it will make sure you are truly serving your audience and helping them achieve their goals!
I took action on this item the day I learned it. I asked myself “what result do I want our audience to achieve?”
I wrote that down: “I want Flipped Lifestyle users to own an online business that is making consistent income each month, and is making a difference in their budget (paying a car payment, a mortgage, or replacing their 9 to 5 income). I want our readers to have less stress, more time with their family, and a chance to build a full time business of their own.”
Everything we make now must lead to that goal. We know exactly where we are going, we just have to plan how to get you there and then take action!
This has made content creation for our Flip Your Life Membership Community Sooooooo much easier.
Understanding the destination is helping us coach better, create better trainings and answer questions in the member forums more thoroughly!
The B Avatar concept has changed our business!
If you have not created Avatar A…do that first. As soon as you have that, before making a single product, figure out what result you want your customer to achieve. That is Avatar B…work your people toward that!
Creating an A and B avatar will give you tremendous clarity in your online business and really help you always know what to do next!

Is there supposed to be an audio and/or video?
Jocelyn Sams says
Not on this one, Kerri. Just a blog post. 🙂
