Have you ever wondered, “Why isn’t social media marketing boosting my sales?”
We hear you!
So, we’re going to share our social media marketing strategies that revolutionized our business because we made social media marketing work for our brand.
Social media has become this bot-infested, troll fest where everyone’s just vying for attention, removing the “social” part in social media.
Well, guess what?!
Riding that social media marketing wave isn’t as smooth sailing as you thought, and it’s even doing more harm to your business than good.
“But WHY? I post at least 3 times a day! I have a HUGE following online!”
Well, hold onto your hats and let’s get this started first by analyzing the top 3 problems, followed by our 3 best mindset shifts that will actually help you improve your online presence!
3 PROBLEMS THAT ARE CRIPPLING YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING:
You are automating too much.
The problem is we’re automating the wrong things!
People, in general, are more inclined to follow brands with a personal touch.
Botting your social media platforms removes this element from the equation and makes your audience become selectively blind to your “automated” posts.
They want real people engaging in real-time who are actually using their social media to build relationships and connect with them in a meaningful way.
An Internet Bot, also known as web robot, WWW robot or simply bot, is a software application that runs automated tasks over the Internet.
You’re looking at the wrong numbers.
It’s time to stop looking at those vanity numbers, folks.
All those likes, hearts and retweets you get are not important.
Remember: The only numbers that matter on your social media marketing are your sales!
Ask yourself:
How much money is your social media generating for you?
How many people are actually buying stuff from you because of your social media?
This is not a popularity contest, you’re growing a business and the primary goal is to use social media marketing to boost sales.
You are not using social media platforms like they were meant to be used.
When you’re doing social media marketing, you have to think about how each of these platforms independently function.
You’ve got to use the platform like it was meant to be used so that you can build more relationships and then sell more things to those people who actually are interested in your solution.
Social media marketing is not about spamming people with information they can’t relate to!
SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS AND WHAT THEY’RE FOR
Twitter:
- For broadcasting short bursts of information to communicate and share updates real-time.
Instagram:
- For pictures of your travel, your trips, your kids, your new clothes, your new experience, etc. It’s for sharing images of experiences that will eventually lead people to see how you earned those experiences, how you earned what you’re doing.
Facebook:
- So you can inspire, entertain and actively connect with your audience.
Pinterest:
- A virtual pinboard where you can look through things, picking out the best tips and tricks.
3 CHANGES TO MAKE YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING MORE EFFECTIVE:
Mindset Shift #1: Social media is not your brand.
Social media is NOT your brand.
Social media is NOT your website.
Social media is NOT your product.
Social media is not YOU.
Remember:
You are your brand, your product is your brand and where your product lives and is sold is your brand.
Social media is there to build relationships, and then when you are in a relationship with people, you will send them to your brand.
All roads lead to your brand, your website, your list. Think of social media as the first step on a journey to your email list, and the email list is the direct path to your product.
Mindset Shift #2: Social media is not your content.
Content gets shared on social media, it is not where you must create your content.
Make your posts on your website and then post it natively on your social media platforms.
Share that content and syndicate it out to the social media platforms that it belongs on.
For example, if you have a post that’ll be great for Facebook and Instagram, then get a good picture and share it there. If there’s an awesome thing you wanna tweet out to let somebody know you’ve got something new, then share it on Twitter.
Remember: You gotta create your content on your website BEFORE you share it on social media.
Mindset Shift #3: Social media is the top of your sales funnel, and not the end game.
So many people are falling into the trap because they’re following the Facebook expert, or you find the lady that’s all about Instagram who says, “If you don’t use any Instagram, you’re failing!”
You find the guy that says, “Have you used bots? Bots are going to fix everything and grow your brand online.”
No, they’re trying to trick you into thinking that the social media platform is the end of your sales funnel. They want you to believe that all of your work, all that effort, is going to get those likes to get those followers and then magic will happen — if you build it, they will come.
But that is not true, y’all!
Remember: Social media is the first step. It’s the wide net that you’re going to cast to get you in front of as many people as possible. Social networks are great for getting cold traffic to see the content you’ve already created on your platform, so that they can go there and consume more of it and eventually buy from you.
Start thinking, “To get more sales, I’ve got to get more people in my sales funnel. I will get more people in my sales funnel by creating content, and I will tell people about my content on social media.”
So, there you have it!
That’s the flow to get social media marketing to work for you and your online business.
