“Why is my sales funnel not converting?”
Shane: What’s up guys, welcome to another episode of the Q&A with S&J. This is our YouTube channel and our podcast where we answer real people’s questions about online business. Jocelyn: Alright, Kevin writes, “why is my sales funnel not converting? I’m getting emails but no sales.” Oh Kevin, we hear this question a lot. Usually when
you’re getting emails and not getting sales, it’s some kind of a problem in your systems. If you’re getting emails… I know that Kevin in particular is running ads to get emails which is great. He is able to get emails, which means people are interested in what he has offer, but he’s having trouble closing on the sale. We’ve been working through this in the Flip Your Life community and Shane has some great tips about how you can fix problems.
Shane: Alright, so in the Flip Your Life community there’s actually a training called the Sales Chain, and what this does is it kind of takes a new look at the sales funnel and we study everything from the time someone discovers your brand until they purchase your product. We look at each link in the chain along the way until we get to that point where they actually exchange that money and we try to fix the parts that are weak, the weak links in the chain. What’s happening here is it sounds like Kevin is doing a good job of traffic. He’s doing a good job getting those clicks, getting those ads to his page. He’s doing a good job getting people to opt-in so we can skip those links in the chain. We are getting the emails so we don’t to worry about the traffic. We don’t have to worry about right now, the opt-in the bonus. We just go straight to BAM they’re on my email list. Now we’re not converting sales, so the next link in the chain would be his autoresponder. Kevin, you really need to look at your autoresponder and you really need to look at those open rates and click through rates, and see if there’s any weakness there. Maybe there’s the first email, it’s getting 80%. The second one 60, but then it dies off to 5%. Nobody’s opening the third email. Well, maybe we need to pitch before the email that does off, or maybe we need to improve the email or people, it’s dying off. Maybe his autoresponder is working good. They’re clicking to his sales page. That’s the next link in the chain. We need to study what’s happening on that sales page and see how we can get people to go on to that order form, okay. So whenever you’re thinking about your sales sequence or whatever, you’re like “oh man, this is working but this is not.” Focus all your energy on the weak link in the
chain. Find the part where you’re losing people, that’s what you’ve got to improve — that next step — and once you get that next step fixed, a lot of times that will correct the entire thing, okay.
